yes Chauncey you don't have to help people if someone is starting a discussion post but when someone ask's for help, help should be given when applicable!
There were 13 posts after the first two. Question and possible answer, then 13 useless, degrading posts. And you don't have to help people, but you don't have to criticize them either. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
there is something called a search engine where you can look for answers yourself which is actually more enlightening than asking questions here as a noob. also there is a booklet that is called the manual that gives lots of information.

isnt google a search engine? i could probably get a couple decent resources on google by using common sense. there is a difference between being a noob and a lazy @ss noob.
