my room has just enough space for my 1.8cuft car box, but its about 1 inch from my seat, is this bad for the sub, will it cause any noise defects, the sub is a type r and i dont think gets much excurion, so would this be fine or not?

I have a box under the back seat in my 02 dodge ram quad cab and the seat sits on the top of the sub. be sure to get a good cover. i bought two menphis covers they same to be working fine. the only prblem i have is the subs are hitting my seat so hard that the seat is making all kinds of noise.

As long as the sub isn't hitting or touching the seat, you should be fine, although the cover gives you even more insurance, plus you can push the seat up against it.
I have a 12" X.X.X behind my seats in my Ranger.

You are kind of limited with space in a truck.I know this will sound stange, but what I would do is run four really good 6/9's in boxes with a good amp pushing them. You can get a surprising amount of bass out of them and you wont have problems with them under your seat.
