are those dual voice coil subs, and if so is the amp bridged, if it is unbridge it, it is probabl;y not stable at the ohm load.

I have the same problem with my Sony. I have the XM-2100GTX, and I can listen to it at low volume levels (8 out of 30), but if I turn it up a little louder the amp cuts off. I'm wondering if this is a common problem with these amps because I know it's not my wiring or sub (sony p5 12inch) because I hooked my friends Rockford Fosgate amp up to my sub and could max out the volume.

are you running it bridged on a dual 4 sub, if so that is your problem, that amp is only 4ohm stable i bet.
