i know this is the wrong fourum but it seems like nobody gives a crap on the other ones.

i know about car audio but im kinda lost here

i dug up a pair of old 3 foot home speakers and amplifier of my dads. i hooked up the speakers to the strero A inputs, and they are fine, but when i went to put in a couple of little surround speakers to the B inputs (what i assume to be for rear speakers) they work but i can only get either A or B to work. there is a button for each A and B and when i push them both in i can only get sound from that of the last button channel i pushed, the other shuts off.

in other words i can only get sound from A (front speakers) or B (rear speakers)

is something wrong with the amp or am i just doning somthin wrong. i just have them hooked up the the satalite/DVD player and i dont think it has to do with that becase i always get bars on the volume scale

what do you think

the A/B switch on the home amp has both channel pairs in parallel.
the older amplifier is only 8 ohm stable.
running both pair at once is a 4 ohm load.
can't do it.

the switch is there to be a switch so you can use A or B, not A and B.
