besides un doing my whole system to find out. what would be the advantages/disadvantages in turning the subs around so that the magnet is out of the box and the cone is facing teh inside of the box? would this make them thump more or less, and is it bad for the subs?

its basically the same thing as them facing regular. just remember to wire neg to pos and pos to neg to reverse the polarity. although some amps have a reverse polarity switch...

if you don't switch the polarity when you flip your subs they will be out of phaseand you'll have a decrease in bass

so leave it the same on the amp just switch the pos and neg on the sub?

you can do that or you can reverse the polarity on the amp if it has that capability.

Adding to that, it also allows you to easy access to the wiring terminals for quick re-wiring if needed.
