2 ohm or 8 ohm load?

im have 2 kicker 12 inch 4 ohm L5's. i am hooking them up to 2 kicker kx400.1 amps. one amp to one sub. should i wire them as 2 ohms or 8 ohms??? some1 please reply to me!

what does the amps put out at 2 and 8 ohms

how many watts rms are the subs

Your Subs can handle 600 RMS (each sub).

Your amps push out 400 watts X 1 channel @ 2 ohms. Or 200 watts X 1 channel @ 4 ohms. And probably 100 watts X 1 channel @ 8 ohms.

So,

Wire the subs voice coils in parallel like this;

One sub per amp.

Since your subs can handle 600 watts RMS, I would suggest an amp that can push out at least 600 watts RMS x 1 channel @ 2 ohms, even a little more so you can have some head room.

well the kicker kx400.1 i can make more then 400 rms... i can get it to like 560 at 2 ohms or so. and i also dont want to blow out my subs really shortly after i get them

Even at 560 RMS you are still underpowering them.
