I am a little confused

I am running my amp in my house and i am using a 12 volt 1 amp power supply,and watts are amps multipied by volts so does that mean i am only getting 12 watts out of my 300 watt amp,WTF can someone explain to me about amperage

yup. if your amp is only getting 1amp at 12v, then yes, if your amp was 100% efficient (which it's not) you'd be getting 12w.

That's not a good idea though, well unless you want to start a fire I guess.

that cant be true cause test power supplies are like 10-30A

Putting a car stereo in your room wont start a fire... it should be fine i have done it before. But thats crap about it starting a fire unless you don't know how to wire. Does it sound any good though?
