this is the new box I am going to get for my new truck so I have limited options here. I have 7.25in mounting depth and .88 cu/ft sealed. I am looking everywhere to find the best sub to fit these parameters but maybe one of you have a good idea of something that will fit in here. I have a avalanche 12 but I am not sure if it will fit these specs I think the mounting is deeper then 7.25. I looked at ID max and it is too deep. Help me out guys.

raise the sub up on a custom baffles to get the depth you need then do a variovent setup to get away with the small airspace

Heres two sites with examples and some quotes from the second link

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/kidder/Audio/SubWoofer1/Subwoofer1.htm

http://hem.passagen.se/gute/sys4.htm

"Now I could fit the driver, but only 1/4 of the
enclosure needed, namely 14 litres..."

"The sound ? Very thight and vell defined, but not much output below 30 Hz. Max SPL in-car is 127 dB."

thanks sean for the links, I dont want to pull out my glove box and do it that way but the other box gave me a idea. Make a custom box with the woofer facing forward instead of down firing and bye bye to depth issue's. Thanks man I will see what kind of dimensions I can use but I just really liked the stock look of the box I posted a link for. They are all hand made using 3/4in mdf so they are not some cheapo pre-fab. I want to go with my ava 12 but I was wondering how I could fit 1.5 cu/ft tuned to 25hz? I am going to go measure the dimensions I have then give Chad a call see what he thinks.

you could do a external port and wrap it around or make it slot ported and have it port out of the bottom front of the enclosure flush with the subwoofer mounting board
