They both seem like exceptional subs for the money to put in a custom fiberglass enclosure I'll be making. But the Orion is a power hungry beast and I dont think I could afford adiquitly feed it, whereas the IDMAX is rated at 1000 watts. So what do you guys think...

All right great...thats means I can spend a decent amount of money towards ONE excellant amp for the IDMAX.

For the powering it what would you figure...
Viper d1200.1
Orion 1200D
JL Slash 500/1
Or any other reasonably priced amps for this sub.

How is the Xeon series of PG? I liked PG's old M series amps made back in 92-94 I believe. The tanrum I have is okay, but I thought it would be better.

Hmmm - am i missing something here !?

Idmax is rated @ 1000wrms , though reported it only needs about 800 - so u don't necessarily need to buy a 1200+ wrms amp .

A decent amp brand thats put out 1000wrms is good enough ...

Yes you guys are right...
Some people on here say they power the IDMAX with about 500 to 1000 watts of good clean power without any problems. So I'll just stick around that range.
