What does running a power cable from your battery to your alternator do. does it just let the current from the alternator get to the battery more quickly (which means that it charges the battery quicker) or am i totally lost. because a friend of mine did it with his system and he hasn't damaged his alternator. please any help (Glasswolf I know you see me alot on here, but im trying to get around buying a high powered alternator) sorry i got so many questions. kind of new to all this stuff! any help appreciated

the heavier power cable is required to carry the current demanded by the amplifiers from the alternator, and the battery.
if the cable is too small, it will overheat and melt, causing a short, and possibly a fire.

there is no way around an adequate alternator.
the wiring is required as well.
