Typr Rs In ported box Ok?

They sound great in a sealed box. But I want a SPL experience now. Will the R's work nicely in a ported box, or will they just turn out nasty? THanks in advance.
marshall white Gold Member Username: Southernrebel Monroe, Louisiana USA Post Number: 1556 Registered: Mar-04	Posted on Thursday, November 10, 2005 - 21:57 GMT yes, type R's will perform well in vented boxes...but dont just go out and by some random premade box. built it (or have it built) for the R's. it the box is designed properly it will allow for an optimal mix of SPL and SQ. one other thing, ported/vented boxes usually dont sound at "tight" as sealed. (ex: they "slam"...not "hit"...if you know that i mean)

I want to get it built to the right specs if anyone knows the dimensions. Its also going in a Yukon if that information is necessary. Thanks.
