New member Username: 99silveradoz71Minford, Ohio U.S. Post Number: 3 Registered: Oct-05 | Alright let me explain my situation. I have a 1999 Silverado Ext. Cab. I'm wanting to hook up an MA Audio m589i amp and two MA Audio MA101XQ 10's. The problem i'm having is the stock head unit doesn't have RCA's. I have a hi/low converter and I spliced into the stock speaker wires running to the rear speakers. I hooked the remote wire for the amp to the stock speaker wire running to converter. When I turn on the radio the amp comes on, but it doesnt stay on when the volume is turned up and while it is on the subs are scratchy/popping. Would the stock head unit be causing this problem, if it has a built in amp? If anyone has some advice you can directly email me at pdawg_mhs@hotmail.com or just post a response on here. Thanks p.s.
