Okay, here's the deal
i got a spare CVR from my friend that says its broken
just for testing purposes, i hooked it up to an old Profile amp(the amp does work, thats not the problem)
the sub didn't work though at first, so just messin around, i pushed in a bit on it and it started working while i had it pushed in
but as soon as i let my finger not appl ypressure, it stopped
my friend played it at pretty high levels like 95% of the time...
i dont think its blown cause i didn't hear any scraping when i pushed it in, but i think he might have ripped a tinsel lead off the inside of the sub
but i may just be making that up...
anyone got any other ideas??

If you can't see any physical damage, and no signs of a blown coil, then the tinsel could have bene damaged. Once you push the cone in enough the tinsel makes contact again and starts playing.

Does it sound normal once you have it pushed in and it's playing?

i mean obviously not that great considering my fingers pushing in on it,haha
thats kinda the same conclusion i came to too
i was just re-making the connection when i pushed in
im gonna take it out when i get some free time and examine it
