Are these louder than a type r? And where is the cheapest 12 inch eclipse aluminum? Will they handle 600 watts rms?

Try www.froogle.com for prices.

And it'll do best in a 3cu/ft boxed tuned to 32Hz or 35Hz.

the 8100 series is the best. you can find it on www.woofersetc.com rated at 500w rms i think. the 8100s can take the 600w rms i think.

I'd go Aluminum. I saw one in a kids Honda with a Pyramid "1,000" watt amp, and a cap in a 2.28 box tuned to 35Hz. It litterally hit hard enough you couldn't see straight.

And yes, it'll be louder than a Type-R.

That sounds about right. The Alums are 500 wrms, the pyramid was probably putting out about that much since it said 1,000. I'm just wondering though, what does the cap have to do with anything?

I can't remember. It was loud, I have to admit that. Decently clean, but nothing compared to the high-end stuff I've heard. I'm starting to like SQ setups more and more. I'm starting to like music more to myself, than to impress others... It's strange when you start to grow old...

Haha, I knew you'd see the light eventually. It just takes time to get the SPL craze out of your mind. Just sit back and enjoy the MUSIC, and focus on making it sound as accurate and appealing as you can.
