Just like to say I purchased JL 12W7 in a HO box for $405 today. It is very impressive. The bass was so low, my ear drums were almost popping. The funny thing was, it wasn't that loud, probably around 700w rms.
If you haven't listened to one in person, I highly recommend it.
Don't listen to rap with it, cause you need a song with 20Hz bass to feel the power.

Oh yeah. The 12W7 goes for over $400 alone. The HO box costs over $200 and JL doesn't like selling it by itself.
Here in Canada, they want $1200 for it.

Then you need to wait for people that wants to go SPL from SQ.
JL 13W7 in vented box for $500 was the best deal.
My 12W7 is in a HO box, so it almost offsets. $200 for the box and $200 for the sub.

Thats an unbelievable price.
Thats almost as bad as my friend telling me that his brother inlaw sold a 12w7 for $100... and it was in perfect condition!
That made me sick.

But if it's not that loud...I mean sure, it sounds amazing, but if you can't hear it that well, where's the BASS? I have a feeling that's what makes people buy RE...SQ, AND BASS!

ya man i love the w7's i didn't think one would be loud enough for me and for the price of one w7 i could get 3 w3v2's so i did :-)

I honestly was going to go with RE instead of a W7... But after listening to both the XXX and the W7.. well, I dont know, just something about the way a 13W7 sounded.. The deeper the bass goes, the more authority it displays.. I know I could have gotten two XXX's or whatever...but only had room for ONE sub. I dont regret it for a second. :-)

The only problem with 13W7 was, JL made no HO boxes for them. I've only see for 12W7 and below.
The HO box for 12W7 is bigger than the box for 13W7. Maybe that has a factor in it. For them to make one for 13W7, it would be too big to fit into most cars.

""Yeah, but I lost out on a Zapco amp. I bid too early and some azz bit with 10 sec left.""

Think that azz was me :D was it the Zapco Reference 1100.1?

I got a 12W7 in sealed box and my JL 500/1 amp blew the other day for no reason im well gutted!

Plus these amps are rip-off here in the UK so i guess i deserved the zapco deal more than you.

Take it easy, W7 is still just the best!

Oh I doubt it was you. The amp I was bidding on was 750.2. Was trying to use it with my Zapco equalizier.
Well if you won Zapco 1100.1 amp, then you certainly improved your situation. It is a great amp.

cool I got XRs too will get a 750.2 for them some day if i can find a deal

Zapco 1100.1 goin on my 12W7 sealed next week cant wait!

BTW Isaac you should be glad you didn't win the 750.2 as it is only 4 ohm stable bridged and the W7 needs 3 Ohm :-)
