Was thinking about four of these, but the pricetag is pretty large. How much of a difference would it make if I went with a lower-end Eclipse sub instead? (like a 7124)
Four of these is absolutely unnessacery. I just had my ONE Eclipse Ti installed. I'm running it off of a 600 watt RMS PG amp.
The amp bass boost is at zero, and I never turn the head unit past 50 percent...
I have it in a 3.5 Cubic Foot Slot ported box tuned to 32 HZ.
For one sub with such low power, it absolutely slams. It was rattling the Tweeter sign on the outside of the other end of the building.
Unless you are trying to compete, I don't see a need for it to be any louder, but if you wanted to, I'm sure two of them with about 1200-2000 watts RMS running to them would be loud indeed.
:D Finally got it 'eh? You need to get another one... And I finally got my boxes done, sub points up toward the roof, and the port sneaks out the side towards the back hatch. It hurts...
