I was riding in my car and and my system was hitting like normal and all the sudden one of my subs stopped hitting and the other kept goin i have tried re-wiring it putting it a different channel idont know what happened can someone pleae help me, my other sub works perfectly fine they are the same kind and everything i hooked the sub to my home stereo system and nothing no sound at all....

there wasent enough watts to blow it and plus if its blown it will still work but will sound like sh!t right? and if it blew why didnt there other one blow with it

it depends on how it was blown on whether or not it will still play.
it might have been about to blow, but the other one "took one for the team" as they say.

your amp might have clipped the signal to the sub if it didn't have watts enough to power the sub.

a clipped signal may not be audible depending on how much is clipped, but the resulting DC voltage sent to the sub is harmful to the voice coils.

Give us more info;

What make, model, size, voice coil configuration, resistance, and sub is it?

What make, model, watts, and how many channel amp is it?

How do you have them wired?

How is tha setup installed? Who installed it? Is it legit, or monkey rigged?

Did you buy this stuff from a good source?




Push in on the cone and listen up real close. Is there a scratchy sound?

Are the tinsel leads in good condition? (not ripped/loose).

Does the voice coil smell like it is burned?
