The Type X isn't in the same league as the R and the Kicker Comp. It's kinda hard to compare.

it would sound better but those Comp VRs will be way louder than the TypeX...what exactly are you looking for with these weird comparisons?

Just bass? Drop some Audioburns into a slotted box, there's your cheap sound. As always, I recommend Eclipse (I'm still in love/awe). But some RE are a good way to go, and so is JL.
