New member Username: Accordv6Post Number: 1 Registered: Sep-05 | Hi all, I'm new to audio installion. And i guess its time for me to DIY it. I have one 580w amp installed so far that pushes 4 speakers w/ 4awg from battery to the back trunk. I just bought a 380w 2ch amp and a 8" sub. How do i bridge it to make it a single channel? How can i power up both amps and sub? What kind of distribution block should i purchase? and what wires do i need and what gauge is best for power, ground, and remote? Do i need a electronic crossover? If i installed both amps do i need to increase the amp fuse in the fuse holder? Please let me know.. I appreciate all help. Thank you. Hen |

RTFM. http://www.bcae1.com/bridging.htm -How can i power up both amps and sub? -What kind of distribution block should i purchase? with a distribution block. 4AWG input, and at least 2 4AWG outputs. http://www.knukonceptz.com http://www.partsexpress.com/ power and ground will be 4 or 8 gauge. depends on what the amplifiers accept. remote is usually 18 or 20AWG. small, low current 12 volt signal. -Do i need a electronic crossover? not if both amplifiers have their own crossovers. low pass filter for sub, high pas filter for the 4 channel amp -If i installed both amps do i need to increase the amp fuse in the fuse holder? that depends on the size of the fuse you have now, and the current draw at load for both amplifiers. |

And would 4awg be recommended over 8awg? In the manual it only says 8awg. And 18 or 20awg for remote should be fine right? or anything bigger? The only thing i am concern is to buy the right things for the amp before installion. I already have an idea how to install everything. Thanks alot for your help and time. Hen |
