i give the avalanche the SQ because it can drop so low. it still hits the tight notes too. the xxx wins spl i owuld think being the extra power handling and xmax. i have heard a avalanche but i have not heard a xxx.
I give XXX both, given enough power. More potential displacement. The Avalanche may get a higher SPL in certain vehicles because it has a really peaky response in a ported box.
Both will be so close to each other in SPL that it would really defeat the purpose of doing a strict comparison. Choose based on what would work better. The XXX is suited better for a ported box.
exactly Jonathan, if you have a amp that does 1500 watts then get a REXXX if you have a amp the does 1000 watts get a ava. They will be close but the REXXX does much better in a ported application while the Ava is great in sealed.
