4000 watts, too much for stock alt?

I have 2 15" dub series subs, 1500htc audiobahn amp, and 1 farad cap in a 99 grand prix se. The amp says it puts out 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm and thats the way its wired. it absolutely pounds and my lights dim but not as bad as i thought they would. will i be okay or will i need to upgrade the stock alt.

you should...its putting mass strain on your alt and it might fry it. go with like a 125A alt.

i'm running a total of 1400 rms and i'm going with a 165a. you might want to think about getting a 200a.
