This discussion came up in another thread so i thought we could have everybody's input on it - only those who ACTUALLY own or heard them should answer .

Question is : In EITHER sound quality or overal SQL - which brand performs/sounds better & DO NOT let $ bias the answers .

ALSO : Please comment on what type of enclosure suits each best for overal SQL .

I'm asking because my bro wants to buy some subs & we're looking @ this .....Upload

SQ- ID Max from my preferences. Tighter sounding, less boomy.

SQL- At higher volumes in a sealed box, W7. Ported, the ID Max sounds better and gives a flatter response, but it won't get as loud.

JL 13W7 in a HO box, if you can find one will be louder than most 12"s.
I've seen 12W7 in HO boxes. Very loud bass with SQ.

So Isaac u'd pick JL then , (in a HO = high output box ?).

With a 13w7 - do the diameter of its actual outer rim edge measure around 14" ?
