i have had a lot of trouble with my old system soi decided to invest on something better. so i am fully open to any ideas. my only requirement for this system is that it runs more than 400 watts rms and is as cheap as possible. tanx for the help but ive tryed my own combos with systems and they keep getting shot down by someone so now i am letting you all pick what i should get just keep it low in price and high in wattage,

What size subs can u fit & guessing in a ported box too ?
& by cheap u mean brands like Hifonics for amps or Pioneer for subs ?
What about H.unit & door speakers - got those already ?

well i have a friend who adviced me on other stuff and who convinced me to upgrade my system, and yes i changed all my door speakers. i am very proud of them becasue they are four infinity speakers with custom installed tweeters and two cross overs. now i have a ported box but can easily get any other box if i need it. now robert are the subs' price include two subs or one if its two then thats perfect and i could probably go a bit higher if the stuff is worth the price. and rovin i would rather not include anything that comes from pioneer. if hifonics is good then those will do becasue i want something worth my work in the hot sun. now about that amp i think one ohm may be two low because i still have a stock alternator. two ohms should be good...wait i just looked at the amp and the subs but i if i wire them up normally wont they create a four ohm load? if so they will only get the wattage that my current subs get and i want to go over that. tanx guys for the help. ithink i can go to five hundred bucks without a problem. i would rather the system run at 2 ohms than 1. and over 400 watts with two subs. thanks for ur time i really appreciate the help.

would this thump harder than getting a squared kicker witha matching amp that runs 600watts rms at 2 ohms? and the link for the amp is not working so i couldnt check it out.

If u talking about a square sub for a 600w amp then u'll get the L5 http://sonicelectronix.com/item_3168.html

BUT - look @ this ,2 of those subs i mentioned above = 400wrms x 2 = 800wrms & 2 of these are cheap than 1 L5

& its been said about a gazillion times on this forum about that L5 & L7 that the sound quality sucks @$$ & that the Kicker Comps & CompsVR are the better subs to buy & they lasts longer than either L5/L7 .

Whether any subs are set up @ 1,2 or 4ohms - it don't matter much , the amp will do its work .
Note that amp i picked for u puts out 1000wrms @ 1 & your subs need 800wrms @ 1ohm together so your amp should run cool if thats your concern ...

okay how about this combo, will it be any good.
two of these...

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1898

and this...
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=106

the amp runs 800 watts rms at 2 ohms if i wire the voice coils to get each sub to run at 2 ohms and connect both i will get a 4 ohm load. so instead of getting 800 watts rms each sub will get 400 watts... which is enough for me. is my math right and wat do you all thikn about this.

DUDE - u just took 10 steps back !.

Read the thread 'audiobahn' thats running right now in the subwoofer section & that'll explain it to u about that company & ppl who have used them .

Whatever company u are buying your stuff from ,ask them for a suitable wiring kit .

Read here for some ideas on wiring sizes/guages etc www.the12volt.com

okay i read it and must say i have lost alot of respect for audiobahn, so u are saying i should get two of these
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14817
and this amp
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-xOP27JNx3DY/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&id=essential _info&i=049RAA1000#Tab.

correct?

thats should be good but 1 ohm is very low and i would probably need a new alternator, right? so this setup should run 500watts to each sub right?
okay if it does than thats kool. but i also need to know were to get a better alternator and if thats all i need in order to power a 1 ohm system. tanx for ur patience with my very slow brain. uve been of great help to me.

Yea - those 2 . BTW i also intend to get that amp from CF to power my pair of Pioneer TS-W306DVC subs 400wrms same 400wrms just like those Kickers i rec for u . I'm in another country & those Pio were what were available to me @ the time .

Remember those Kickers are 400wrms (2 = 800wrms) & that amp is capable of pushing 1000wrms so u need to turn the gains down a bit .
I read in a few sites that its always better to get a amp slightly bigger than what u need so it does not have to work @ full power but can supply what the subs require quite easily - sorta like your engine can make your car go 130mph but u usually drive around 80mph on the highway .

In case if u wondering if 800wrms is enough volume ? - Believe me it is ,my Pios in a ported box have the cartilage in my nose moving !!!

Amperage needed - i just saw 'fuse rating: 40A x 3' on the CF site so thats 120amps of current it'll draw .

SO - if your engine has a regular 80 , then 120 + 80 = 200amp alt is needed .

Now - i take it u already have an amp for highs/mids ? . U also have to add the amperage of that amplifier to that 200amps ...

BTW - what other audio equip your ride has ?

I'm normally an impatient guy but in this car audio stuff seems like i do have patience to help others - lol

ok i have four speakers for my doors they are all infinity adn i have the components installed and everything, now for the amp for mids and highs, i am not sure what it is but i doubt that i have one. and i think it is a good system and i will buy it but it goes a bit over my cash limit so i have to wait a while till i can save for the rest. i can afford the system but not the alternator. and i also need dynomat cause my truck's shell vibrates horribly even with my kenwoods. so all i have installed is my speakers and components, i have the crossovers for them so when i put my kenwoods in my truck the audio is very clear and u can hear the voice even with alot of bass on. yeah well at least i have a set goal in mind now so i am going to save as much as i can from each pay check until i buy everything then i will let u know how it went. tanx alot for the help and for not ridiculing my mistakes like so many other people have done on this site.
