Hello I have 2 15" Diamond audio subs that are 8 ohm DVC. I need to know how to wire them up to get 4 ohms. I will be hooking it up to my amp 350 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms and is 4-ohm stable in bridged mode. Thanks for any help.

Ok I had a friend come over and look at my wiring to make sure it was right. He told me that with it wired the way you showed me he thought it would be 2ohm load not 4ohm. So I'm messed up I don't want to put a 2ohm load and mess up my amp up. Looks like if the 4ohm dvc's in the diagram shows 1ohm the 8ohm dvc are going to show 2ohms. Please help.

Hmmm - Your friend is right ,it works out to be 2ohms ...
I was probably seeing DVC 8 ohm & thinking dual SVC 8ohm will = 4ohms, sorry bout that .

Been searching the net trying to find a calculator for an 8ohm DVC sub & i can't find any . Never heard of a 8ohm DVC come to think of it & i can't find some evidence to show it can go 4ohms ...

Whats the sub & amp model number u have ?

Your amp cannot push a 2ohm load ?

Not even google.com can find those subs but i did find the amp
http://www.google.tt/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=3&url=http%3A//www.eslake.com/item/351S. html&ei=0sMhQ-2CB5z64AGkiNjyAg

# 90 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
# 175 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
# 350 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms .

so i now see that u trying to run the amp @ 350x1 @ 40hms , but currently your subs only are getting 90wrms ....
Best that u ebay for a good 2 channel amp that can do 2chans x @ 4ohms or get (2) mono amps that give u the power @ 4ohms each . But a single 2 channel amp should be the cheaper alternative .

U have any what rms each sub actually needs ???

Also if you bridge 8ohm in to the amp will the amp see 8ohms or 4ohms? I thought I read this somewhere.

Thats what i said - but i just thought of something ,that sub MUST be a home audio sub !!!

Generally car subs are either 4ohm,2ohm & even 1ohm designed with a lower resistance to be more efficient to work with a car's 12V DC power .

My bro's car does have a pair of old 10" Hifonics subs & they are 8ohm SVC & is powered by a 2 channel amp & works fine 6yrs runnning now ...Upload

Ok, those are single voice coils at 4 ohms, so you won't be able with 2 of them to get to 4 ohms, the best you can do is 8 or 2 ohms. I will include pics.

So it has been officially determined that each sub is a single voice coils at 4 ohms ???

If so, then that sends us in a different direction ...

NOTE - i picked each amp 600wrms @ 2ohms so your amp has plenty headroom & will run cool .....

I got another question since my amp is 350 wrms at 4 ohms can I run one sub (which would be 4ohms) with it and buy another amp just like the one it got and run the other sub? I know where I can get another amp just like the one I got cheap.

Well sure that too . Do consider 2 amps do take more space ,wiring & will draw a lil more current than just 1 - but if u getting it @ a really good deal , do it .
