I have 2 12" 4-ohm dvc subs on the way and a 2 channel fosgate amp (601s). I was told by a guy at the audio store that i need to wire them to run at 2-ohms, is this correct?! Cause I thought 2 dvc 4-ohm subs can only be wired at either 4-ohms or 1-ohm.....?!! Sorry guys I'm a newbie, but somebody help me out please!

they can only be wired in 4 or 1 but i think the guy thought you where going to put a sub on each channel because 1 dvc 4ohm can be hooked up in a 2ohm

Brandon,

They can be wired at 2 ohms since you're using a 2-channel amp. They will use one channel per sub and parallel the VCs.

The 1 ohm & 4 ohm loads are for mono amps.

Which subs did you get?

Ya put your + in, you take your + out you put your + in and you shake it all about! You do the impedance dance and you pray your amp doesn't blow, that's what it's all about!
