ok here's the deal. I decided that i'm going to get 2 12" kicker cvr's instead of 1 l5. Since I'm pretty new to car systems, I was wondering how many watts my mono amp that i am getting should be. the cvr's are 400/800 rms/peak, 4 ohms. So if I want to run both on my mono amp do i need a 1600 peak amp? or just a 800
forget using peak ratings for anything. always use continuous or RMS. you want 800 watts RMS @ 2 ohms (mono amp unless you mean the subs are dual 4 ohm coils each.. then you'd want around 800 watts at 1 ohm, or find a 2-channel amplifier that puts out 400 watts RMS per channel @ 2 ohms stereo
