depends if its made for midbass or designed as a subwoofer...buy a midbass and it will provide good midbass

How do you tell by looking at the specs if it is a midbass or not? By the Hz range, correct? If so, what should the range be for a midbass?

What does everybody else use for midbass??

im doing the same thing with 8s except not in front
im putting them on the roof behind the a console
the ones i got are midbass\subs
the HZ range wont tell you everything because its up to the manufacturer how the rate it.

For instance two speakers with ranges from 30hz-1khz but one may only just barely have an audible signal at 1khz and the other be obnoxiously loud at 1khz. That and one can be heavily distorted at one of its limits.

I do prefer 8s as midbass drivers but you have to find the ones that can be used as midbass

the only ones I know of are CDT, kicker, and adire audio.
I went with the cdt myself. they werent very expensive only $60 each

I saw the Kickers on car domain for 250 dollars...a bit spendy.

Where can I buy the CDTs that you have?

Where can I buy Adaire Audio?

Do they sell direct?

Is there an online store that sells them?

cdt has an ebay store
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:11&It em=5791658872

Thats as direct as you can get without asking them directly
the kickers go for about 130 i believe
Get them soon they may not be on sale much longer i got them when they had free shipping

Cool, thanks for the link.

What is it about them that makes them a midbass?

Do yours perform well as a midbass?

They are a 4 ohm svc correct?

Do they ask for a small sealed enclosure ( 0.35 cubic feet), is that what yours are in?

they go in small enclosures or infinite baffle
they just have a usuable frequency range which makes them play well at higher bass frequencies.

The only way to really tell what a speaker can do is look at raw data of their performance.
They are 4 ohm svc

This is what the majority of car audio guys use in my country .

Eminense Alpha http://www.usspeaker.com

Even though it was made as a home audio speaker ,it really performs well in cars & its damn cheap too - try these out .
read up on it , u will know its good .

Morel makes great raw midbass drivers, look at madisound.com, or go to www.morelhifi.com and browse their stuff.

Hey Jase - Was by Glenn on Friday = $2500 complete kit .
Right now i'm trying to get a hold of the guy who makes them for Glenn & a whole lot of ppl in central . He lives in Edinburgh on the main rd , heard he does a very good job , original & hardly any fillering to do after . He has a regular job in Chaguaramas doing f.glass work so he's a hard 1 to get to so i will have to make a spin by his house in the night lol .

BTW today i did a small budget audio install on my bro in law's new shape Wingroad wagon . He did not want 'too much loud bang' so i installed a Jenson cd/mp3 deck , used back the stock door speakers but with an added pair of 1" tweeter up front & a pair of Power Acoustic 6 x 9s each in a separate box that i made (came out factory looking)in trunk facing back hatch . I know its cheap brand but sounded damn good for that el cheapo equipment lol .

What about u ,got your w7 hooked up yet ?

BTW too - where do u usually buy rims/tires ? - i'm looking for some 15s .....

Ron,

I got a pair of the CDT speakers coming.

Thanks again for the link.

14.99 dollars eash for shipping!! Ouch. Oh well, considering the low price of the speakers themselves, I came out OK. How much power do you have going to yours?

The day you gave me the link, it was 14.99 dollars for the first one the one cent for anything additional. Then I asked the seller a question about the item, and all of a sudden he goes and raises it to 14.99 dollars each. Money hungry ba$tard!!

What kind of enclosure do you have yours in?

How happy are you with them?
