Amp Power Switch Hookup

I was wondering how would i connect a power switch to an amp for when i rolll up on da police i can hit the switch and the subs cut out then when i ride out i can switch em back on. any special way because the switch i have wouldnt handle the 8 guage power wire i have

Do you mean only the subs, or the whole system? If the whole system, I'd put a rocker switch on the power to the head unit.

If just the subs, I do the same to the remote/power antenna wire, that's if my system schematic was set up where the amp only runs the subs.

Check your headunit features... I have a pioneer headUnit and I can just turn the subs off with 2 preses of a button. It has a feature for subs on/off which just cuts the output to those RCAs.

I don't know if there is any reason not to, but I wouldnt put a switch on the power, just sounds like a bad idea, the remote wire would be a better choice I'd think like Slugger suggested.

Either way though a decent headunit should be able to control the low end.
