yeahi have a rockford power hx2 12 rated at 1000 rms and it is a 'Dual 2 ohms'....i was wondering what way i shoould wire it ....like i always heard if the sub was Dual 4 ohms...u could wire it at 2 ohms or 8 ohms...and thne i heard if the sub is Dual 2 ohms...u should run it at 4 ohms or 1 ohm..i want to run this at one ohm but the jl 500/1 doesn't drop that low....so if i wired it at 2 ohms woudl i be hurting the sub or not?

You cant wire a Dual 2ohm at 1ohm or 4ohm by itself.Only 1ohm and 4ohm. Parallel will run it at 1ohm and series will run it at 4ohm.

Yeah.... you might wanna re-read your post, drummer. You then will realize that it doesn't make any sense.

Yah man, you can't get a 2 ohm load with a dual 2 ohm sub... unless you had 2 of them.

Dual 2 ohm:
1 sub = 1 or 4 ohms
2 subs = .5 or 2 ohms

Dual 4 ohm:
1 sub = 2 or 8 ohms
2 subs = 1 or 4 ohms

I don't think that just .5 ohms will hurt the JL amp... I'd say wire it to 1 ohm... and keep a close eye on it for a little while.
