Well I have 2 Audiobahn Awc12t 500 watt rms subs in a deep box I payed $130.00 for the subs shipped to my door well my friend Daniel bought a Alpine 15 type r 750 watts rms sub in a single deep box for $200.00 and a Lanzar vibe 1000 watt 4 Channel amp for $150.00 well he wanted to see what was louder a Audiobahn 12" sub running a the rms or a Alpine 15 type r running at rms well to my amazement the Audiobahn was louder why do you think it was???

The audiobahns are spl subs, and you have more surface area.
The type R, I thought it was 500 watts rms?

also did you use an SPL meter for this comparison, or was this done "by ear"?

unless its on a meter I'm not interested.
the alpine will sound ten tiems better as well, which would be worth going with the alpine to me.

i agree with glasswolf, also how much power was that 1000 watt 4 channel amp putting out. Certainly not 1000 watts rms x 1. I have two 12 inch type r's, and they get very loud, but at the same time, they sound very good. i am guessing way better than your audiobahn could sound even at a low volume level.
