I just returned my IDMAX10v.3D2 because it had some wierd a$$ clicking sound when the bass hit really hard... so now, I'm looking for good advice and guidance AGAIN!
What sub do you think would be a good alternative to purchase maybe barely leaning a little more to spl quality.
On a scale from 1-5:
IDMAX (sq) being "1" - Kicker L7 (spl) being "5"
I'd say I'm looking for a 2! lol
For reals, though. Who can help?

Thanks you guys!
(they say IDMAX has best sq with good spl... but what sub has best spl with good sq?????)

You could try a Brahma MKII, (not the newest version). It'll probably be a little louder than your ID MAX depending on the enclosure you use and had with your MAX. I'd say you should try a Resonant Engineering SX though. Rated rms power handeling is the same for the SX and ID MAX, so you could use the same amp, and the SX's can really belch out some high numbers. They're actually more of an spl sub than the xxx. Should be what your looking for.

Not exactly sure. If you get a 10 to match your 10" ID MAX it should be around 200 bucks? I'm pretty sure the 12's and 15's are in the $250 range.

well, i'd like to get a 12 if i can fit it into my car. You can hear 12's further away, right? Hey, do you have a website for these subs I can go visit, bro? I appreciate it.
Thanks!

Id go with the adire brahma. I think its the next best thing from a IDMAX in terms of SQ while being louder. You can also check out a tempest. I think they have better SQ then the brahma but less SPL...but thats a guess. Ive never heard it.

Hey, you guys, thanks for your help...

Supra:
I'm pushing it from my factory stereo & an RCA converter, to a Digital Audio 900watt mono class-D amp. (wired at 1-ohm)

I'll only be running this 1 sub (whichever you all help me choose...) by itself, in a sealed enclosure.
