Will this hurt my amp or my cap???

I have a Clearion 1500x amp and a Boss cap and a Punch d block well i ran my 4 ga wire to my d block and 8 ga to my cap and my amp well i read on a page here that u hook 2 the cap and then 2 the d block what one is better???
