Ok i dont know what my alternator is rated in amps but its a stock in my civic dx 95'. I want to get the mmats d300hc which is rated between 1200 and 1400 watts rms. i know this would probably kill my alt. I was wondering what and could i just lower some kind of gain so that i wont need a new alt? thank you

First, you have to know what's the amp output on your Alternator(usually from 60-80amp). If you have 80amp alternator, you should be OK, but it you have only 60amp, lower the gain. Your amp is D class, so it's 60% power efficient, you should be alright.
