Looking to buy 2 12" Power Acoustic Mofo or RE XXX subs. I'm thinking about Infinity, Hifonics, and Power Acoustic amps. These will be in a dual vented cabinet. What power will I need and will I need a capacitor. Also,with the Mofo's can I run the dual 1 ohm voice coils in series, then parallel them to the amp to run at 1 ohm?
ok for your 1ohm ? the answer is yes you will end up with a 1ohm load. As far as getting the mofo's or the rexxx there is no comparison whatsoever between the two! REXXX is a much more dominant sub being much more power hungry as well. If you are planning on running 2-REXXX's then I would suggest either two designated 1000-1500 watt amps or 1 good 2000+ watt amp. Now if you are going to go with a huge amplifier like that I would assume that you have already upgraded your electrical system? if not GOOD luck!
