I thought of this while making a sandwich.

Upload

Figure 1 is a Snailshell
Figure 2 is a Snailshell unfolded
Figure 3 is a Single Reflex Bandpass
Figure 4 is a Single Reflex Bandpass extended
Figure 5 is a Single Reflex Bandpass with the first port with a length of 0

Notice the similarities? The chambers are a different shape and the final port flares out, but the general design is the same. Possibly some way to model it?

Fig 3,4,5 are all the same.
Fig 5 doesn't have a port length of 0, it's the thickness of the panel.
Would have thought it's a abc not a bandpass.
Am I missing something?

Nah, I was the one who got it wrong. It's not actually a Single Reflex Bandpass, I got the port and subwoofer mixed up. It was late, I was still doped up from getting a tooth pulled, yeah.

I was just comparing the design to the snailshell. The snailshell is basically the same except between the two chambers there is a port length of 0 (you can't make square boxes have a port length of 0, so it is implied).

Oh and an ABC has a another port in the subwoofer chamber (3 total).

Try reseaching a little more not all abc boxes require 3 ports.
To have a port requires it to have a length.

Has anybody ever tried messing around with the snailshell chamber sizes? I've always noticed that the second chamber resembles the shape of a megaphone, I'm sure you guys have too. I'd like to build a ss and then extend the slanted chamber. You'd think the longer and bigger it is, up to a certain point, the louder it should be...
