I am looking to get a 5 or 6 channel amp to run infinitys 63.5s and 62.5s along with a set of component tweeters on the 62.5s and one of infinitys 840w off the center channel of my HU.
Basically I am looking to get at the very least 65x4 @ 4 ohms 12.5 volts for the four speakers and the sub channel(s) a minimum of 125
Ron, don't expect a miracle from a 5-6 channel amps. Most of them are very low in power. You'd be better off getting 2 amps, one 4 channel and a sub amp. It'll probably end up being cheaper too.
Ron I agree with Isaac.I purchased a 5ch Hifonics amp ZX8000.It sounds ok,it was inexpensive (cheap)about $260 off ebay. But it really doesn't sound as good as I want so now I'm looking for a way to finance another amp.Just do it right the first time and use 2 amps.I think you'll be happier
I would use a McIntosh MCC406M. Quite small for a 6 channel and excellent SQ. Hope you have $2500 for it, if not i would go with the Zapco R650.6, not quite sure of the power ratings though but its very clean power.
Memphis "baby" belle model 16-MCH600 is 55wx4 rms at 4 ohm and 5th channel 1x100 rms at 4ohm or 1x200rms at 2 ohm or 1x400rms at 1 ohm. This amp is 1 ohm stable on the 5th channel and is a class AB (4 channel) and class D on the 5th channel. They also have a memphis belle which is 75x4 rms at 4ohm and 5th channel 1x300rms at 4ohm, 1x600 at 2ohm, and 1x1100rms at 1ohm. But as Isaac said it would probably be cheaper to buy 2 amps.
Thanks for the suggestions. Im not planning on putting a sub on the amp just the four 6.5s and a 6x9 or something similar in size I have a 6 channel HU (Kenwood X-989) The 5th channel is going to be on the center output but I want to use it more for midbass
