i'm getting two alpine 12" type R's.. whats a better amp

PHOENIX GOLD OCTANE R15.0:1 1500W
Hifonics Bx1500D
Alpine M1005 1000W

or can u think of another good amp to power these subs, they need atleast 500W RMS each.. i'm kinda on a budget though so anything not way too expensive. ty!

go with the alpine...1000 watts of good power is better than 1500 watts of cheaper power

No... don't go with Alpine... there amps are over rated, the Hifonics is the best you mintioned. I don't know you're price range, but look at MTX/JBL as well. I believe JBL makes a 1000.1 and I know MTX makes a 1501D.

The Kicker is a nice amp if you can swing that go with it, if not the Phoenix gold is a good amp, better then the alpine and the hifonics imo! Phoenix gold has always made quality equipment.

Go with the Alpine. I had four of those amps in my Cherokee powering four Type-X's and I could have them full power all day long and they barely got warm. They're an awesome amp, and you can hook them up to the Alpine HU and control it from there. I doubt very many people here have owned one of those amps, but I'd recommend them any day.

alpine amps are to expensive for what you get. Hifonics isnt bad, a tad overrated and its a crapshoot on if u get a lemon or a gem. Pheonix Gold is good if u stick with the xenons, the octanes arent bad for the money but i never really like an amp that advertises its peak power in the model number.

Exactly... but for $200 for a Hifonics 1500D... even if it only puts out 1100 watts... thats still not a bad price.
