can anyone tell me how much it would cost to have a switch installed for my amp professionally

I'm not sure what installers charge per hour, but it would be as easy as installing a $2 switch on your amp's remote wire.

I suppose it would depend on where you wanted it mounted and how pretty you want it to be.

Just guessing - $20-$30??

well...
1) That's really ghetto.
2) You've lowered the impedance your head unit is seeing and are risking the possibility of causing damage to it.
3) At best you're probably getting 8 or 10 watts to your speaker - it couldn't possibly sound very good at all.

by causing damage to it do u mean by blowing a fuse?

blowing a fuse isn't damage.
overloading the circuitry of the head unit is.

hey i got a car system hooked up in my house i got a 12v plug in . now i want to hook up my car amp to it but i don't know how much of a plug in i need i know 12v but how many a ???? the one dod not work it was 1.5 a and how would i hook it up cuz it got me beat there the sonys it is a 480 amp so if u could help i will like that thx

i have a sony CDX-C4750 head unit and i have a Rdion D-440 400 watt amp. I would like to buys some speakers to put in my truck that i just bought. It is a 96 ford ranger. can anyone help me and tell me how to install this. the head unit is in but i want to install my amp and run wire for my new speakers.
