i hear xtant is a very good company but on the xtant 6.1 its THD rating is <2% does this mean its gonna sound real bad cus its distortion is pretty high my alpine mrd-m301 has a thd of like.05%. please explain

Xtant is a very good company. The THD numbers can be deceiving. It all depends on how the test was done.
In your car, anything less than 2% can't be heard cause your engine/wind/fan etc are much louder than the THD.

Yep I used to run a couple Class A Soundstreams that were rated at 1% THD. Best sounding amps I've ever owned. Now whenever I see high THD specs on anything other than an el cheapo product I automatically assume two things:

1) Honest Company

2) Awesome Amp

Oh btw, check my profile. You'll see what I'm running now. When my Soundstream Class A 100II was stolen the 4180c was the best amp I could find to replace it. System insurance is a good thing. Allstate even paid the installation fees, so I let someone else do it for a change.
