BOX builder in MD area, HOW EFFECTIVE are 1/4 wave boxes?

i need one for a 15" atlas


what's the advantages of a 1/4 wave box?

Hey Brian , i am in Gaithersburg,MD and i had my box built built by www.woodlawncabinetry.com which is in PA. Not bad for shipping. Otherwise i whould get my box built by myer-emco in the area.

$125 but mine was for a Ported Box for a JL 12w6v2

Next box will be for a Avalanche 15 at 2.25 cu ct. Should cost me $105 plus shipping of $20.00

A quarter wave will have awesome output in the design's usable range, the trade off being that the more low bass extension capability you want, the larger the enclosure will have to be(some times as much as 2-2.5 times the size of a ported enclosure, with the same low frequency roll-off, ie. tuning frequency. But if you have the space go for it!
