New member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 5 Registered: May-05 | how does the 12" atlas preform at comps or up against other subs and as far as actual decible readings. i want 2 12's that can get to 150db no prob still sound decent in a 3'0 box |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3112 Registered: Dec-04 | in 3.0 cu/ft get two avalanche 12's and tune them to like 25htz 1.5cu/ft per driver with a good 2000 watts and you will be slammin and sound very good also |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3113 Registered: Dec-04 | the atlas' dont get as loud as the avalanche's and they need big boxes. |
New member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 7 Registered: May-05 | awsome thanks |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3116 Registered: Dec-04 | no problem man |
New member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 8 Registered: May-05 | is there anything louder though but still around 250 |
Silver Member Username: AlpineuserWinchester, TN Post Number: 349 Registered: Mar-05 | atlas is a great sub but u really cant expect to much output out of a sub with 300wrms no matter how effecient it is |
New member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 9 Registered: May-05 | Thats why im so skeptical i want loud and clean just like my friends 2 LA SVC2 15's he has at 153.45db but i dont really want to spend the 1800 the audio shop wants to charge me |
Silver Member Username: AlpineuserWinchester, TN Post Number: 351 Registered: Mar-05 | 2 15" ti pros would be loud, only 355 each at electronicgiant.com, dunno how much u are willing to spend though |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3123 Registered: Dec-04 | dude dont be skeptic man just go with the 2-avalanche 12's not atlas and give them 800-1000 (real) watts each from a good amp not the Hifonics you were talking about before a good amp and you will be on your way to 150db's man.I have 1 avalanche 15 with 800 watts and I am running sealed and I hit 146.7 and thats in a sealed enclosure so they can get very loud and they sound very nice also. |
New member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 10 Registered: May-05 | so something like the rockford power 1000.1bd or would i have to get the 2000.1 to get 1000 at 2 ohms. |
Silver Member Username: AlpineuserWinchester, TN Post Number: 352 Registered: Mar-05 | listen to james hes talking first hand im still waiting for my 18" avalanche |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 11 Registered: May-05 | where can i get the avalanche 12 at they dont offer them on their website says coming soon |
Silver Member Username: AlpineuserWinchester, TN Post Number: 353 Registered: Mar-05 | u will have to call them on monday and see if they are even still available, hell the 15s are 225 and the 18s are 275 so get u 2 18s |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 12 Registered: May-05 | haha if they would fit under the back seat of my truck my limit is a 2 12'2 if i had an suv i would be packing it with 18's haha |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3127 Registered: Dec-04 | you are going to need `600-2000 watts at 2ohms to run two of them. call on monday they are waiting for the dustcaps but they will be shipped out withing two weeks I ordered a 12 and I cant wait to get it and go ported and see how it compares with the 15 sealed and the 15 atlas as well |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 13 Registered: May-05 | alright ill probably get the rockford 2000 or the Lightning Audio strike 2000.1 then thats 1000 at 2 ohms and i cant afford much more if any then that and i want it ready buy nopi nationals so i can get a get rateing on them. do they only come in 4 ohms or can you get a 2 that way i could drop it to 1 ohm or are there any tricks to get it down. |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3129 Registered: Dec-04 | are you gonna run 1 or 2? they come in dual 2ohm coils so if you run 2 you will run them at 2ohms. you are gonna need an amp that is 1600-2000 watts at 2ohms. |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 15 Registered: May-05 | im gonna get 2 but both the Rockford and the LA run 2000 rms at 1ohm im guessing that wont cut it unless your talking peak |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3131 Registered: Dec-04 | no that wont cut it because there is no way to get a 1 ohm load from 2 of those subs. |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 16 Registered: May-05 | any suggestions cause those are both about 750 each and if i buy two then im better off get the SVC2's or RF T212d4's |
Silver Member Username: AraknidBOCA , FL U.S. Post Number: 534 Registered: Nov-04 | For a 1 ohm load you need 2 DVC 4 ohm subs wired parallel/parallel. |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 17 Registered: May-05 | yeah i know that but they come in 2 ohm DVC so i either get .5p/p or 2 ohmsp/s |
Bronze Member Username: AlastakaPost Number: 19 Registered: May-05 | so does any one have any suggestions to a better amp selection |
