Ok, so i own a 12W7 in a prowedge box and the outputs say final impedence - 3 ohms. All is good so ive been looking at amps with around 1000 watts between 4 ohm and 2 ohms. Ok, well is it possible for me to say. open up the box and take the sub out and rewire the sub to make it 1.5 ohms and therefor look for a 1000 watt at 1 ohm amp and save a little money.

BTW. i was looking at getting a JBL GTO 1201.1 for 300 new on ebay.. thoughts please.

Nope. The 12W7 has a single 3 ohm voice coil.

Thanks. What do you think of getting that JBL amp. and what about pushing the 12w7 with a Hifonics amp, maybe 1500d or 1605D?

I'd probably go JBL over Hifonics, a tad more reliable.

I think the hifonics would be fine, I think they put out good power for the money, although I have not sceen or messed with their newer stuff. But I have been running my amp for years.
