Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 18:18 GMT Well, I can't find any audiobahns that are 4 ohm svc, or 2 ohm dvc... so nun of them will work with my amp. I found some Kicker l7's that I could prob afford in a few week's:-) but theres one problem. The reason they are so cheap is they have been factory renewed. The store is a authorised dealer... so they have a 90 day waranty. Is it still a bad idea to get factory renewed stuff? My second question is... I can get a 10 inch l7 for $139, and it is the 04 mottle, or the 12l7 for $129... but it is the 02 mottle. What should I go with?

Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 18:24 GMT a different sub...lol... take advantage of a 15 atlas for 105$ in a ported box ive heard they can reach 141 db i doubt one L7 will do any better. and they are much more efficient with 250-300 watt rms i know your amp is probably too powerful but then you can sell that and ghet a less powerful one.... ...just a thought ... ..oh and how much to DD lower end subs cost? i have no idea but i bet they are great

Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 18:28 GMT Lol, no way I'm selling my amp!:-) I really don't want a 15 either... and the 12l7 are rated at 750 rms, and my amp is 800 rms. I just don't want to buy something that is already crap! I know that solo's have been known for crapping out, and these have already been renewed... wich I'm guessing that they have already taken a crap on someone else!

Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 19:41 GMT at those measurements ,inus 1.5 inches l x w x h youd be at 5.22 cf before the sub (3.5 ft wide) wed be in business and would go slightly smaller than the 3.5 wide to match up to the 4.75 cf after displacements for the sub and ports

Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 19:47 GMT no but ill tell you this with about 2 cf ported in a sledgehammer mtx box a friend of mine hits in the 140s with an audiobahn 2400 watt amp with two 12 l7s but that amp is over rated and your gonna gain 5 db with spl port so youll have about a -1 db avantage on him with your one twelve vs his two twelves and half his power so the 140 is quite possible

Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 19:54 GMT Hum... I was looking at the spec's for the 04 mottle l7, it recomends for ported 1.75 - 3.25 cubic FT. Granted the one I'm looking at is the 02 mottle... there shouldn't be any difference in the air space requirment's. P.s, could you post the measurments of the box it will need? Hight, from the seat going to the roof, width, from the start of the seat, to the back, and the length, across the seat. Thanks for all you're help.

Saturday, May 07, 2005 - 20:38 GMT I just thought of another question... I told you I don't know anything about boxes!:-) I know that the back is supposed to have a slope so the sound waves don't cancel out or something... but how much of a slope will I need? The bottom of the box will be 18 in, does that mean the top will only be like 16?

Sunday, May 08, 2005 - 02:36 GMT Anon, I'm not for sure on how to set the gain on amps, but you are supposed to match it with you're head units output or something like that... so set at 5 I'm guessing. Sean, we have a little problem, I can't go 15 deep, 13.5 is about it... I might could cram 14 in, but it would be hard. Everything else I think should work.
