hi, installing an amp, but i want to put an on/off switch cause i dont always want the subs on, only problem is that its 8awg wire, its to thick to hook up to disconnect terminals to put on the switch. its a 120v switch should be good right?

or do i hook the switch up to the remote wire from the deck?

most amps come with a little remote that will let you turn your subs down. like this:

my freind has that amp and when he turns the knob all the way down it basicaly turns the subs off.

unfortunetly this one doesn't come with that:-(
so would it be good to have the on/off switch on the remote wire? cause thats what sends the signal to the amp to power on right?

NOpe 120v switch wont work right on a 12v line. Use a wire from a 12v source like the lighter wires to the switch then to the amp where you hook the remote up. Will work fine

120v switch means it can handle up to 120v makes no difference if its 12v or 120v at, least with my experiences.
