nobody is on the home dvd thread so maybe you could answer my question. i have downloaded some movies off the net and was wondering what is the capacity of a blank dvd. if my movie is like 700mb will a blank dvd disc be able to hold the whole thing? if not is there a smaller format i could put the movie into?

It most certainly should. DVD discs have a lot memory. It should tell you how many gigabytes it can hold on the disc or the packet the disk came on. The only thing that would make it smaller is if you compress the file. But you have to make sure the DVD player knows how to unzip files otherwise it wont work.
