What sub is best for mtx 801D amp?? They say it's RMS 800W @ 2 ohms. middle price range ($300-350?) Do you think their RMS rating is true??

I want both SQ AND SPL from a ported box! Is there a 12" single sub out there for me ? Please help. going crazy.

800 watt RMS amplifier... If I was you I would go with either a 12" or a 15" Kicker L7, they put out 750 RMS for the 12 and 1000 RMS for the 15 I think. VERY deep bass, great quality, and VERY loud. Most people will think you have 2 big 12's in your car. Trust me, L7's are awesome.

I am not quite sure. The only experience I have had with these Kickers subs is listening to them at Circuit City. They had an L5 that was pushing about 300-500 watts RMS. It had the same feel as the 2 12" Kickers that were 300 RMS apeice. The glass was rattling in the store and everything. If you can find a place, go try them out and see what you think.

The MTX amps put out a little more than they are rated. On another car audio forum they did a test on that exact amp and it got an A+. Good Amp....

my cousin has a focus, and is pushing around 2000 watts, the alternator was the first thing he had to replace, and also had problems with the head units. his visor was the first thing to fall off his car from the thumping, and please get that dynamat license plate holder.....for future reference.....

you could buy my 12" alpine type X sub in a slot ported box. good spl and sq sub. better than the L7 imo.
