You could run that without the batcap easily with that charging system. I own the model 800 stereo battery and i can only say good things about that. Go for the batcap 800 as a backup anyways as its 70%battery/30%capacitor. Also i highly recommend you upgrade your BIG 3 wiring..battery negative to chassis ground wire, alternator to battery etc...engine to chassis

aweseom thanks mo....and um what about a 300/4 with a 1000/1 and the batcap? and i;ll look into replacing all of the wiring from the battery to alt, ground, etc as well as im going to have to upgrade to 0 guage wire

im running a 15 avalanche... i know the JL1000/1 is a little much for this sub so should i just leave the gain all the way down and take it easy on the sub?

but my amp decision is not made yet.... i was originally going to get a 500/1 but decided i want more power... so now im looking at a 1000/1 to match my 300/4 or a zapco 750.2

you should be ok even with that. If you see any major dimming then upgrade to a 150-200 amp alternator from www.excessiveamperage.com otherwise you should be fine. If i had a 135 amp alternator i whould go with the 1000/1 and the 300/4. I personally have a Avalanche 15 and since its dual 2ohm voice coils will be using my Crossfire VR1000D mono amplifier that does 1000X1 @1ohm at 12.5 volts. Thats more then enough for a Avalanche 15. All you really need is 600-800 watts rms. Im also running a ppi art 300.2 and thats another 300rms im running so combined at full blast im running 1300rms but i wont be playing my music that loud all the time so i wont have to worry to much about upgrading to a HO alternator right away. My stock alternator is 80A if it makes you feel any better. I will be using a Batcap 800 and see how it handles first and go from there.
