US Acoustics Amps?

So it has to be overrated, yet on that "good/bad amp list" it is in the highly reccomended section. |

Since the amp isn't 100% efficient, you won't get 1215w, but you can see it will be up there. Sometimes a manufacturer will put "max" possible power under extreme condition to get consumer's attention. Doesn't mean you will get that power 24/7. |

If that amp draws 90A max, there is no way it can produce 1200wrms @1ohm. 90A x 13V = 1170w and that is if this amp is 100% efficient...which is impossible. 1170w x .80 = 936wrms That is what the amp could in theory if it was 80% efficient. for $280, i would look into something along the lines of a jbl bp1200.1. It will do a true 1200wrms+. |

It is over $700. Same thing applies to most good amps. Zapco's C2K 6 is over $1000. If you're into high quality sound, the Xtant amp is something you should consider. Same thing applies to Zapco. Had I not bought 5 G4 amps, I would've maybe made an offer for the Xtant. |
