WHAT SUB FOR ROCKFORD FOSGATE 301M AMP?

Anonymous

I bought a ROCKFORD FOSGATE 301M MONO AMPIFIER with these specs:

150 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
Selectable 50-250 Hz variable low-pass crossover, 12 dB per octave
Selectable Punch Bass boost (0/6/12 dB at 45 Hz)
Frequency response 20-20,000 Hz

What would be a good subwoofer for this amp? I would like one sub w/ decent SPL and good sound quality. Whats the best bang for the buck?

What size subwoofer are you looking at? What kind of vehicle will you be putting it in?

Size is not a really a factor, but somewhere between 8"-12" probably.

1990 OLDS Cutless Supreme, mounted in the trunk or deck below the rear glass whichever is best.

With the 301 you have I would suggest going with a 12 DVC subwoofer with two four ohm coils. That way you can wire the coils in parallel +2+ -2- and hit each coil with 150 watts (300 total), instead of one SVC with 150 watts (150 total). That should thump your cutlass, and I would spend the money and get a good sub.

i would reccomend two cerwin vega 10 inch HED-10SVC subs, they are awesome subs and run 150w rms each and make sure you get the SINGLE VOICE COIL subs if you go with these...

another sub you could get is a 12 inch type-r dual 4 ohm VCs.. be giving it 300w rms, they are not bad subs but i like cerwin vegas better
