If I have 100-125 watts rms going to 4 channels and I want to run a 12" sub how many watts rms should my sub be getting idealy? If my sub overshadows my full range speakers thats ok as I can lower my sub level to match right?

usually want about twice the power for the sub(s) as you have for mids/highs.. that's a very vague rule of thumb.

you want to match your subs RMS with your amps RMS typically or have the sub RMS be a little bit higher then the amps RMS because it Typically doesnt take the full RMS power to reach Peak excursion of a sub in the right enclosure.

thanks guys :-) I was thinking since I will have 400 watts rms for the mids/highs then I will get 800 watts rms for a sub. I can always turn down the sub if i have to.
